The School of Nursing is embarking on an exciting and important community fund-raising event which will run from 1st November 2022 – 31st January 2023.
Staff and students will select a trio of challenges to get involved in, with the aim of being sponsored for their hard work and raising money for six charities.
Activities and events can range from a sponsored hike, baking, fitness challenges, litter-picking or even giving up chocolate!
The School of Nursing and UCLan Students’ Union have also come together to provide a range of challenges
for students to choose from, including a healthcare sew-a-thon, a pyjama day and a sign-language workshop.
All of these events are free to join and can count towards your challenge trio.
Student Nurses have voted to fundraise for six charities that they feel make a huge difference to our wider communities. The charities that have been selected are:
- Derian House Children’s Hospice
- Brian House Children’s Hospice
- North West Air Ambulances
- North West Blood Bikes
- Refuge
- The Samaritans
You can register your participation in the Triathalon through this form,
after which the School of Nursing will send you a link to the just-giving pages. Sponsors are encouraged to log on to one or more of the six School of Nursing Triathlon just-giving pages, each one dedicated to one of the above charities, and make a donation if they can.
The Triathalon is a fantastic event for bringing nurses together as a community, and the school is looking forward to seeing as many students and staff involved as possible. Use the hashtag #NursingTriathlonUCLan on social media to show how you’re getting involved!
