🔔 UCLan Ophthalmology Society Presents: Hands-On Ophthalmic Surgery Skills Day 🔬

 

Important Update: Places are limited, to ensure every attendee gets direct, high-quality supervision, we’re capping the number of participants at 16–20 students.

🎉 We’re pleased to confirm that ethical approval has now been granted and everything is set to go ahead!

 

We are excited to invite you to our first surgical simulation session, a fully hands-on, high-fidelity event designed for UCLan medical students interested in developing practical ophthalmic skills and exploring a career in eye surgery.

🔍 What to Expect:
✅ Microscope-Based Training – Get direct experience with micro-sutures, ophthalmic instruments, and surgical techniques in a simulated theatre setting.
✅ Expert Demonstrations – Learn step-by-step techniques from consultant ophthalmologists and trainees.
✅ Skill Progression – The day will take you from beginner suturing to more complex procedures, tailored to your level.

 

📍 Location: Maudland/Darwen Building, UCLan Preston (Harrington: To be confirmed) 
📅 Date & Time: Sunday, April 6th, 2025 (9 a.m to 4 p.m.)
🎯 Eligibility: UCLan medical students only (due to university liability policies)
