Uniting students and young adults from both UCLan campuses in Preston and Burnley to help grow a Catholic Society in Burnley. We will spend time in St. Mary's Church for prayer and worship. Then have pizza and social time! Transport will be provided.
Main event at Burnley
The main event will take place in St. Mary's Church in Burnely at 5:30pm. We will be given a tour of the church and then be able to participate in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Vespers and Benediction.
Around 7:50pm, we will have social time with pizzas to get to know each other. Our aim for this gathering is to encourage and help the Burnley campus to start their own Catholic Society branch. In hopes to further grow our Catholic community to the wider UCLan student population. The benefit of starting a CathSoc at Burnley will also encourage the local diocese to provide a Catholic Chaplaincy within Burnley to facilitate in the development of Catholic faith at university.
Transport to and from Burnley will be provided
Preston students and young adults will meet at Oasis carpark/entrance from 4:15pm. The minibus will set off at 4:30pm sharp. PLEASE DO NOT BE LATE. If you are coming by minibus please contact to reserve a space with Joesph White (Oasis Catholic Chaplain) through whatsapp or email him on JWhite27@uclan.ac.uk. Alternatively, message one of our committee members via email or whatsapp and we can forward it to Joe. We will arrive back to Preston at Oasis around 9pm (depending on traffic).
