Bike Hire

We’re now offering a Bike Hire Scheme, exclusively for the UCLan community to make getting around campus and wider Preston more convenient and accessible.

You can hire from a range of bikes directly from your Students’ Union. We offer mountain and hybrid bikes, complete with lights, locks, and a maintenance pouch, starting from £40 for three months.

Cycle Routes

Take your wheels for a spin on Preston's 21 miles of Guild Wheel paths through our parks and woodlands. It's just 10 minutes from campus!

For a more challenging trail, head to the Forest of Bowland to enjoy miles of wide-open spaces and breathtaking views.

Campus Cycle Services

• Open bike racks - outside most building entrances. Some are covered.
• Over 60 individual velo-safe cycle lockers - which are fully-enclosed and water resistant.  Hire a cycle locker for £30 for semesters one and two or £50 for the full year.  Email cycle@uclan.ac.uk to enquire but there may be a waiting list.
• Dr Bike, bike maintenance – Bike servicing, repairs and advice, once a month at the sports cetnre
• Secure bike compounds - outside the Student Centre, Greenbank and Maudland buildings on Preston Campus. Visit Security on the lower ground floor of the Student Centre for access to be added to your UCLan ID card.
• Cycle equipment lockers - available to use for the storage of cycle or motorcycle gear, while you are studying. Email cycle@uclan.ac.uk for availability. A £10 key deposit is required. 

Burnley Campus cycle storage
Secure cycle lockers and cycle shelters are available at Burnley Princess Way and a secure cycle compound is available at Victoria Mill. Both sites offer storage lockers and showers for cyclists.
