How We Are Run

As UCLan Students' Union is a registered charity, we have a Board of Trustees who act as the governing body alongside our Articles of Association and Bye-laws. However, it's students who truly lead the Union through the Elected Officer Team. These are students who truly lead the Union through the Elected Officer Team. These are students who are elected each year to promote and defend the rights of students, campaign on issues and ensure the University and Students' Union puts students at the heart of decision making and feedback.

As a student-led organisation, students being part of the decision making is important to us. Our Board of Trustees is made up of the four Elected Officers, four Student Trustees and four External Trustees. This makes two-thirds of the Board membership current students, or people who have been elected by students, and that at every level of the Students' Union, students have a part to play.

  • Oversees the key decisions relating to the future of the Union.
  • Sets the direction of the organisation.
  • Ensures the Union is always working for the benefit of our members.
  • Ensures we are always abiding by charity law.
