We have some exciting new voluntary opportunities!
Some places on our Trustee Board specifically for current students are now open. We are looking to appoint new Student Trustees to join the Trustee Board to help to ensure that we understand relevant issues from the perspective of current students. Student Trustees will help us ensure that all the Board’s decisions are made in the best interests of students.
This is a unique position of significant responsibility which will look fantastic on your CV. You'll gain excellent experience and develop skills that translate directly to professional life.
Time Commitments:
- Approximately 5-7 hours per month as a Student Trustee, which includes a monthly 3-hour long Board meeting, usually held 4pm-7pm. These will typically be held in person in the Students’ Union building.
- Reading materials before each meeting.
- Attend two development days per year with the other Trustees.
- Have the opportunity to attend training and networking events, build relationships with other Trustees and take an interest in the Union’s activities.
Term in Role: Up to 3 years (or until you cease to be enrolled as a student at UCLan whichever is sooner)
Salary: Voluntary Position (unpaid)
Location: Preston Campus/Online

Interview Process: The online interview will take around 30 minutes.
The interview panel will consist of the Chair of Students’ Council (or their nominee) and 2 Elected Officers. We will share the themes of the interview questions with you in advance of this to ensure you can prepare.
