Varsity is back – and this time, it’s on home turf.

UCLan vs Edge Hill, head-to-head, battling for glory in the biggest sporting event of the year.

Whether you’re on the pitch, cheering from the stands, or following the action online – you can expect fierce rivalries, last-minute winners and an atmosphere that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

When is it?
 

For the first time in the event’s history, Varsity will be a three-day extravaganza

Women’s and Men’s Rugby Union at Preston Grasshoppers

Tuesday 25th March 2025

Women’s and Men’s Basketball at Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre

Wednesday 26th March 2025

Up to 19 fixtures including Badminton, Volleyball and Swimming across six different venues

Most Varsity games are FREE to attend

Rugby Union – just £5!

Catch the Rugby Union on Monday 24th March at Preston Grasshoppers for only £5. The first 200 ticket holders in attendance get an exclusive Varsity bucket hat! Plus, your ticket includes travel. Food and drink will be available at the venue and bags will be checked before boarding, so leave the booze at home!

Travel and transportation

 

We’ve made it easy to get to every match, so you can catch all the action without the hassle.

Bus to Preston Grasshoppers

Free transport will be available for Rugby Union ticket holders, with bus travel to and from the venue at 4pm and 6pm

Know where to go

Other events will take place at Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre, Sports Arena, Lampworks and Preston campus – all within walking distance
